News
Dear Visitor:
Thank you for taking time to read this. This is my seasonal newsletter, a way
for me to let you know what has been going on with my work and my life. It is
also an opportunity
to share with you the activities with which I am involved and my evolving career
plans.
Although I have been plagued with health challenges this past year -- I now see the light at the end of the tunnel. This -- due to a slow path of recovery with a combination of conventional medicine and alternative methods. I have experienced first hand the importance of positive thinking and listening to one’s body -- along with the importance of getting an accurate and expeditious diagnosis from the medical community.
And so I start work again the week of January 16 -- teaching my weekly yoga classes at Personally Fit in Rancho Santa Fe. Please refer to my calendar page for scheduling and updates. Also note that I will be adding a Wednesday class for new beginners, offering two free introductory classes on January 25th. This coming year I will also be promoting my private work -- one-on-one and semi-private sessions. For the past several years the emphasis of my practice has been on designing yoga-based routines for individuals and small groups -- most of these taking place in-home. Additionally I book appointments at Personally Fit. I also project giving my career a big boost with a revamping of my website and the development of writing projects including a weekly newsletter, a Yoga Lady column and blog. I have been encouraged by my peers and friends to get involved with Twitter, Facebook, and Linkedin. And of course, there is “the book” I want to write -- I have numerous themes, both personal and professional. It is just a matter of decision on my part.
As to my personal training and practice, this past year I returned to my yoga studies by attending a course at the local Iyengar yoga center and have kept up with my weekly square dance class. Ha! You can tell that I have eclectic tastes. I continue to line dance and go to Zydeco dances as my schedule allows. I have yet to get back to ballet class -- my first love -- but hope to do so this year for sure.
The range of my interests is evident in my spiritual life as well. I maintain connection to my Catholic roots through membership with the Kateri Circle of Los Angeles and attendance to their monthly Native American Liturgy. Locally, I attend Saint James in Solana Beach. I especially enjoy and have benefitted from their Healing Ministry. Sufi, spiritual and liturgical dance have interested me for many years. This past year I have become a candidate for more in-depth study of Sufism -- the metaphysical aspect of Islam. I am kind of coming full circle -- forty years ago I was studying the Qabalah and was a member of BOTA -- Builders of the Adytum -- attending services at the Temple of Tarot and Holy Qabalah in Los Angeles. Qabalah is the mystical branch of Judaism. And I continue to be personally mentored and counseled by Jacqueline Valdez -- a profoundly spiritual Intuitive Therapist based here in Encinitas.
ALL PATHS LEAD TO ONE. With this in mind, I wish you all the best on every level -- physically, mentally, emotionally, but above all -- spiritually. May you be fulfilled in every way possible.
Peace be with you,
